Hi, I’m Madison scott, BSDH, CertBBM

Founder of Breathe Well Ann Arbor | Orofacial Myofunctional Therapist | Certified Buteyko Breathing Method Educator

My path to founding Breathe Well Ann Arbor has been shaped by over two decades in the dental and airway health world—and by my own personal journey through it. I work with both children and adults facing challenges like mouth breathing, clenching, grinding, tongue ties, sleep-disordered breathing, and orofacial pain. These aren’t just clinical concerns to me—they’re experiences I’ve lived myself and patterns I’ve come to recognize again and again in the people we support.

I began my career as a dental hygiene assistant in a periodontal specialty clinic in Flint, Michigan, and went on to earn my Bachelor of Science in Dental Hygiene from the University of Michigan in 2010. That early exposure to complex oral-systemic conditions sparked a lifelong passion for understanding the full picture of health. Since then, I’ve completed advanced training in orofacial myofunctional disorders, temporomandibular joint dysfunction (TMD), breathing re-education, and sleep and airway health. I’m a Certified Buteyko Breathing Method Educator through Buteyko Clinic International and currently on the path to becoming a Certified Orofacial Myologist (COM®) through the International Association of Orofacial Myology (IAOM).

At Breathe Well, everything we do is rooted in the belief that functional breathing, quality sleep, and healthy oral development are foundational to overall well-being. I’ve had the privilege of evaluating thousands of patients, and one of the most rewarding parts of my work is helping people finally uncover what’s often been overlooked—myofunctional disorders contributing to sleep apnea, mouth breathing, chronic jaw pain, or simply the feeling of not being at your best. These issues are often the missing link in someone’s health story.

This work is deeply personal for me. My own experiences with hypermobility, facial and jaw pain, TMJ dysfunction, and sleep-disordered breathing are what led me down this path. I know how frustrating it can be to search for answers and feel dismissed—and I’m passionate about helping clients feel seen, supported, and equipped with a clear path forward.

Outside the clinic, I serve on the Board of Directors for Airway Circle, a global organization dedicated to advancing education and awareness around airway health. Whether I’m collaborating with healthcare providers or speaking directly to parents, I love helping others connect the dots and feel confident in their next steps.

When I’m not working, you can usually find me outside with my husband, Jake, and our two dogs, Toki and Lexi. I also have a passion for art and music, and you can often find me in my studio, painting with watercolors.
