Breathe Well Ann Arbor was founded to help individuals achieve better breathing, restful sleep, and optimal oral health through a combination of Orofacial Myofunctional Therapy and the Buteyko Breathing Method. Based in Ann Arbor, MI, and offering virtual services nationwide, our practice is dedicated to providing personalized care to children and adults dealing with issues like sleep apnea, snoring, mouth breathing, clenching and grinding teeth, and tethered oral tissues (such as tongue ties).

Our mission is simple: to empower you to breathe better, sleep better, and live better.

Meet Madison - Founder and Lead Myofunctional Therapist

Hi, I'm Madison, the founder of Breathe Well Ann Arbor. With over two decades of experience in dental and airway health, I specialize in addressing orofacial myofunctional disorders and breathing pattern dysfunctions, particularly related to sleep-disordered breathing, clenching, tongue ties, and orofacial pain.

My professional journey began as a dental hygiene assistant in a periodontal specialty clinic, which led me to pursue a Bachelor of Science in Dental Hygiene from the University of Michigan in 2010. Since then, I've pursued postgraduate education in orofacial myofunctional disorders, sleep and airway health, temporomandibular joint dysfunction (TMD), and breathing re-education. Eventually, I retired from clinical dental hygiene to fully dedicate my career to orofacial myofunctional disorders and breathing pattern dysfunctions.

As a Certified Buteyko Breathing Method Educator and an orofacial myologist on the certification track with the International Association of Orofacial Myology (IAOM), I focus on creating personalized care plans for both adults and children. My approach combines Buteyko Breathing and Myofunctional Therapy to help clients achieve nasal breathing, reduce snoring, and alleviate jaw pain.

I also lecture and serve on the Board of Directors for Airway Circle, a global organization dedicated to raising awareness about airway health. Outside of my practice, I love spending time outdoors with my husband, Jake, and our two dogs, Toki and Lexi, and painting with watercolors in my studio.

Meet Mandy

Associate Orofacial Myofunctional Therapist

Hi, I’m Mandy, and I’m excited to be part of the Breathe Well Ann Arbor team! As an Orofacial Myologist and Dental Hygienist, my true passion is helping others achieve better health, and I feel fortunate to be in a profession that allows me to make a positive impact every day.

I received my training from the Academy of Orofacial Myofunctional Therapy (AOMT) and continually seek out new learning opportunities to stay up-to-date with advancements in myofunctional therapy and dental health. I love helping clients correct oral habits, improve facial development, and alleviate issues like breathing difficulties, sleep problems, and jaw pain.

I live in the mountains of Colorado with my husband, Rusty, our two kids, Emery and Ezra, and our dog, Drizzy. When I’m not working, I enjoy mountain biking and spending time outdoors with my family.
